Sigh! I'm a slug...
I was doing really well exercising until we went to Utah for our last minute trip. I didn't exercise and didn't eat well. So, now I feel like a slug. Ugh. I walk almost every day, eat pretty healthy, yet the lbs are sooo slow to come off. I guess my body has become attached to those love handles and really doesn't want to say goodbye. Very discouraging. I've lost 6 lbs in 2 1/2 months. Not exactly my goal of 1 pound a week. Remember, my swimsuit season comes much quicker than yours! Maybe it's time to step it up again..... any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks Teri, Shellie, and Mom!
Ok... I know we've all sucked about posting lately... I want to thank you last 3 ladies to post! It reminds me that yeah.. this blog was created for a reason! I think this HORRIBLE, NASTY, UGLY, MESSY, DISGUSTING, IRRITATING, AND **(add your own expletive here) cold and flu season has pretty much knocked us all on our Tiny Hiney's! And now, as we see the green stuff start to poke its head up in our flower beds, we are encouraged and almost believe that 'this too is passing!' and are now able to remember that we have a goal(s) in mind!
Ok, enough rambling...
This week I have managed to get a pretty good workout by cleaning out flower beds and raking misc. debris out of my yard. I did this for about 4 hours yesterday (3/22/11), and believe me, my body was soooooo tired, and sooooo sore last night! It was that kind of DEEP tired that makes you:
1) feel oddly good, because you ache so bad
2) remind you that you are REALLY out of shape
3) makes you sleep REALLY well that night
4) and makes you almost look forward to doing it again! At least the whole, "It's spring! Let's go outside!" feeling helps with that!
Today was spent running errands, getting cars and dogs legal, and other various errands, that while leaving me and Drew exhausted, probably wasn't the most physical of activities. I have more of that coming for the next 2 days, with the added bonus exhaustion of having Alayna and Kalie over to play tomorrow afternoon... that my friends will count as REAL exercise! (We are all very excited for their visit, I just know I'll sleep well that night!)
Friday is going to be taking pics of the kids, again an exhausting chore.
Then come Saturday at 7am sharp, my neighbor is cutting down large portions of her tree, so I'll be out sawing and hauling and stacking a lot of wood... another great workout.
I'll let you know if I can move on Sunday.
I have no idea if I've lost/maintained/gained weight. Still wearing the same clothes so we'll go with maintained...
Keep on keepin' on!

Checking In
I was just talking to Shellie, she mentioned that she just posted and since I haven't even logged into the computer for at least a week... I thought I betta. You all are doing aaaammmmaaaazzzzing!!! I'm totally impressed.
I'm feeling more and more like myself everyday, it's awesome getting energy back and feeling good. Seriously, feeling good is AWESOME! I hope I never take it for granted. Other than being a mom, doing mom duties, my exercise has kind of tanked. I keep trying to think It's only an hour of the day, the hour will go by whether I take advantage of the time and work out, or not. It seems so easy... not for me. When the weather gets warmer I'm going to start walking more. Walking, for exercise walking, swinging your hips and arms walking. Except I'll have a stroller so I won't be able to do much of the swinging arms walking. I don't know that I'll ever be a runner, though I've always loved runners bodies, it probably won't be me. My eating has been going really well and I've lost a total of 11.5 pounds since we started. I'm fitting into clothes that I haven't fit into in a few years which feels really great. Sean has started also and is doing great! I've been so impressed with him. A friend of ours introduced us to an app for our phones, it's a lot like the one Steff told us all about. It's nice cause we always have it with us. It's called MyFitnessPal if any of you'd like to download it. It's purdy awesome.
I was watching Kathy Lee and Hoda yesterday, they had a dietitian on with a little segment on foods that suppress your appetite. I thought it was great so here's the link. I can't wait to get some grapefruit!
Great job lady lou's! Keep it up!

Hay, I lost 2 more
I weighed myself this morning and I lost 2 more lbs. I think I have been too tired to eat. Shannon and family visited and I have been working on my yard. Ya think exercise works? Anyway, I am motivated again.

Skiing is a great workout!
So I had a fabulous weekend in Park City! I got to ski with my family on Saturday while Grandma and Grandpa Ireland watched the little ones! I didn't think it was too much of a workout, until I got back to the condo and had to climb up the three sets of stairs to change! OUCH! The back of my shoulders are still sore!
This morning I shoveled 3 freaking feet of snow off my driveway! My arms were BURNING by the time I was done! Dang heavy snow!
I'm going to try to get a babysitter on Wednesday and head to karate...
Anywho...eating was awful yesterday...I made funeral potatoes and ate way too much!

Lifting lots and sore spots
I've managed to get a couple of muscle toning sessions in this week by first: Hauling king size bed, headboard & related materials down to M&D's, helping set up said king size bed, as well as queen size bed downstairs, then hauling double bed upstairs, outside and onto trailer. Once home pulling double bed off trailer and crashing for the evening.
Second: Waking up following day, rearranging/moving kids room, beds, shelves, toys, etc. around, hauling double bed downstairs, and setting up in boys room. It took me all day to do second, seeing how I was sore and stiff and tired from first day.
Yesterday (Thurs.) was a lot of sitting and spending money on fabric... had to recover some way!
So the muscles have been worked out this week... but no, I don't think I'll be repeating this workout any time soon!

First karate class...check!
All right! I did my first real karate class last night! Besides making a few poor teenagers uncomfortable when they had to kick me, it went great!
Cardio, flexibility, and some strength training! And I only fell on my hiney once...so, my pride got a workout too!
Eating is going well, kept to my desserts (though I'm counting one day of my Park City weekend a holiday so I get a dessert) and besides having one extra scone yesterday...my portions have been good.
It's hard though cause I really could eat double what I do and not feel full... I can eat a lot.
I've added two extra snacks into my day since I cut my meals down. It's really helped, and my spare tire is starting to get a little flat...by June I'm hoping to fit well into my skinny jeans.
I haven't heard much from Teri or Stacie...how're you guys doing?
